Seriously, Chin up Butta Cup!

Good Morning,
Today I'm back for Penelope Dee and the stunning Utopia collection!

I loved this Photo and was so apt for this range.

To create the background I painted watered diluted heavy gesso, then added Barn door distress ink Tim Holtz with a wet wipe.

For the chip board Title; Butterflies; Arrows; Circles, were all Inked using Alcohol inks – Sepia, Citrus and Red Pepper by Tim Holtz.

Fussy cut words and bits from Fantabulous page.
Using grassy straw first, then placing and stamping the leaves.

I used Prima flowers to complete the look.

To Travel Is To LIVE!

Hiya,

I'm here with my last impression of the April mood board.

I love to travel and am lucky enough to have been to Chicago
and see the Bean!

Unfortunately, I don't have such a gorgeous picture
but found this photo on Pexels!
This is a mixed media canvas!

For the back ground I started mixing Dusty Attic paints
Raisen/Cranberry/Sugar plum in heavy gesso.
{I kept adding bit by bit of paint until I had the desired colour}

Using a pallet knife I applied my paint mixture on the the canvas a third of the way down.  Once dry I used Prima Liquid acrylic paint
~Black Ink with fluid medium~

I then fussy cut Kaisercraft Factory- ironwork's page, attach there the two colours meet on the canvas.

Then I stencilled City Skyline - Dusty Attic- using graphite paste - Prima
after drying, I then flipped the stencil and using Nuvo Glitter paste
~ White and Gold~

Then I used Sunset Orange - Tim Holtz Alcohol ink to add a touch of colour.

For my Chip boards I used All purpose ink
~frost White~
then touching with Prima acrylic paint
~Black Berry/Iris Potion~ and shading the
edges with these two colours.

Attaching everything down,
and adding a touch of the white Nuvo glitter paste to the skyscrapers>

Sugary Sweet

Hello beautiful people,

I truly hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

So for my first impression of the April mood board, is Easter related!
This is an off the page project of an Ostrich egg.

This one’s a bit more complicated, in that I used a Dremel tool.
{It’s a handheld grinder for use in all sorts of hobbies.}

I took my egg and cut the front off

and then I cut it to look broken, as well as drilling little holes in it!
Once I had done that, I began to stain with Tim Holtz Alcohol inks
~Sunshine yellow and Red Pepper~

For the Chip boards I painted with Prima Art Alchemy Sparks paint,
as well as Rust Effect paste
~Fairy Wings and Rust paste Brown~

For the eggs I used Polystyrene eggs.

I painted with inks first, then crackle paint and then the top coat.
Splatted with brown paint watered down.

For the title I used Tim Holtz Alcohol inks
~Clover and Citrus~

and to give a bit of shimmer I dusted with All purpose ink
~Champagne Mist~

I then Glued everything in place and the last touches were
the broken looking pieces of egg that I attached last!
