Best Memories

Hello scrappy friends,

This is my first of two layouts for the months of August!
This is a photo I took of my nephew 11 years ago. Where does time go!

I worked on a canvas and added a baby blue torn page from Kaisercraft. I added dry wall tape first, then Stencilled stars on the top half, I dropped coffee on the bottom of the canvas, let dry, and stencilled over adding glitter.
I tore pages from a book chalked them with dark brown and added washi tape, then attached under the torn half of the page.

I painted the fancy frames with antique linen paint and separated the title words and chalked with dark brown.

While this was drying, I then went to YouTube to make my pipe cleaner teddy bears!
multicrafteral.blogspot.com/2016/10/the-five-minute-mini-teddy-bear.html}

Placing everything { flowers: Prima and hand made, also used gauze to create a soft effect}I cust flags chalking with dark brown and stuck it all down. I use hot glue and double sided tape to give depth. once this is all done I stencilled again using Novo mousse.

{Hashtag} #selfie!

Good morning fellow scrappers!

So this months Teal and Red mood board,
took me completely out of my comfort zone.
These are not the colours I would normally scrap,
what a fantastic challenge!

This is my selfie queen daughter (Meghan),
who got me to pose with her, just for a change!

For the back ground I used the stencil Distressed Grid with a mixture of Clover and Mint Green inks, as well as on the the two Tags.

For the Red tag I used Glimmer mist Cherry spray. Once dry I stamped ruler stamp.

For the Titles I used and chippie,
I painted with Candied Apple and I painted the dry wall tape as well.
I also used butterfly ribbon, Black thread, Prima and hand made flowers.

Picture Perfect

Hello scrappy friends,

So this is my take on this month’s mood board!
A simple, yet effective canvas,
using this stunning photo of my friends little girl.

I went garden shopping,
YES I found the bark and the seeds, in the garden.
All I did was dry them in the oven, for a bit.

I prepared the canvas by using Tim Holtz Distress paint Antique linen and rubbing on with a wet wipe.
I then die cut my leaves, and inked them by spraying water first and adding Cherry and walnut and again spraying with water to get the desired effect.

I then painted my foliage with rust paint –Brown and adding cherry to the ends. I painted the small foliage and fancy frame with Sparks Magical paint.
For my title I used Sparks Red Wine paint.

Added splats stencil to the canvas using Tim Holtz – Vintage photo and Black soot and touching with Sparks magical paint.
Then putting everything together and adding grassy straw and gluing everything down.
(Just so you know I’m a fan of hot glue and it sticks)

Captured a moment!

Good morning Beautiful people,

I’m back with my last impressions of this month’s mood board.

This photo of my Doctor Ruth and her new husband Peter was so fitting!
This is a mixed media layout, inspired by Finnabair.

For the back ground I use lace, strips of canvas and bandage tape, placing sort of in the middle of my canvas using heavy body gel, dry. I then began to place my flowers; metal embellishments and straws, once again using heavy body gel. Always placing my photo to check and see if things are where I want them.

I then stared with Prima Art Alchemy sparks paint spraying with water to create the desired effect but please remember to do this, one by one and drying, so the colours don’t run and become muddy. Touching again with the paint I want to make stand out.

I added bobbins and thread plus thimbles, as well as heart pins.
 I truly enjoyed this layout!!

The Perfect Sunset

Good morning Beautiful people,
I’m back with my impressions of this month’s mood board.

This is my first one; this is my daughter and her boyfriend on signal hill, Cape Town.

This is simple yet effective mixed media layout.
I found that with the Dusty chippies, we get a lot of left over board. So not wanting to waste, I cut the left over board into pieces and placed on my canvas.

Then covered with tissue paper, using clear gesso and Let dry.
Using Prima art alchemy paints I covered the back ground.

I then stencilled with graphite past and a Prima Bloom collection stencil

I then stared putting it all together Using wire netting Flowers Clips and sequins

I found metal frames and flowers to add a bit of sparkle and added my Words@play titles.
